Uploaded.net one of the most popular filehosters is offline
For years Uploaded.net was one of the most popular file hosting sites on the Internet. But on November 27, 2022, the site suddenly went offline. What had happened?
The Uploaded.net domain is down and offline. On the website you get the message "Connection timed out Error code 522". It is still unclear what this is about, but it is possible that the site was shut down because it was used to host copyrighted material without permission. It would not be the first time that a file hosting site has been shut down for this reason: Megaupload, another popular file hosting site, was shut down in 2012 for similar reasons.
The hosters and affiliates are waiting for the payment
Uploaded.net removes all payment service providers and will no longer pay claims to users.
A leaked email from Uploaded.net is likely to cause the final loss of trust for many users who have been waiting for a payment.
In the past, Uploaded.net experienced huge delays in payments, which led many to believe that the end of the file-sharing website was near.
The filehoster death continues
Uploaded.net competitor RapidShare pulled the plug in 2015, leading many observers to believe that this would spell the end of sharehosting operations within the EU.
Today's one-click hosters usually give a P.O. box abroad as their address for service, which makes it difficult or impossible for rights holders to contact them.
